Happy St. Patrick's Day
May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face, May the rains fall soft upon your fields, And, until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of His hand. |
(Traditional Irish Blessing; origin unknown, although some attribute it to St. Patrick.) |

Estonian Mittens
Well my friend, Estonian Mittens, sent me some links today. One link is to the Nordic Knitters website. The other link was to this Etsy shop.
I want to pull out my Finnish mitten patterns and get started! The spring weather might lure me down to Harrisville. And the Easter displays at Burdick's are always worth the drive

Woolies for Weenies?
Some of us are preparing our town meeting knitting - knitting that won't get too tight as stress levels rise. Pay to Throw or level bandstands can lead to very tight knitting indeed.
No one seems ready to send a wooly gift to Speaker O'Brien. But if you need your gauge to be much, much tighter, listen to J. Scott Moody on The Exchange. You will find that you will be knitting kevlar.

Feeling politically active?
Has the New Hampshire legislature got you down? You could knit yourself a jaunty sash or...maybe one of these little items! Thanks to Melissa for the link.

Trust No one!
Trust No one....that includes lawn care men and scions of wealthy families who claim to own cathedrals.
Happy Wednesday! Next Tuesday is the beginning of a new session. Keep knitting and pontificating. The word "pontificate" reminds me of Rome and the story that Pat told about the palms in St. Peter's. Pat's story can be read here.
And above is Monet's Palm Trees at Bordighera.
In case you missed it - Jane told an excellent joke about a female brain cell who finds herself in the echoing caverns of a male brain. I have to bring my movie camera class to catch the telling.
